John C. Williams Jr. is the Founder and Lead Pastor of Thrive Church, a Christ-centered church based in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Born in Beaver, Utah, and raised in Northfork, West Virginia, John brings a rich background shaped by small-town roots and a deep commitment to faith.
He and his wife, Shawna, were married in June 2009, and together they share two children, Jewlius and Lashawn. Their family resides in the Rock Hill area, where they are deeply engaged in both ministry and community life.
John is a bold leader with a passionate heart for Christ. He is committed to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and encourages people to always live as the hands and feet of Jesus. He is also the author of the new book Unbreakable, which shares a powerful story of faith, resilience, and God’s redemptive power.
John has strong leadership in Biblical Theology, further equipping him for ministry and effective leadership. In addition to his pastoral work, he leads a thriving Men’s Discipleship group, meeting weekly with men to equip them with a strong biblical foundation, a deeper relationship with Christ, and the tools to live out their faith with confidence and purpose. Rooted in God’s Word, this ministry emphasizes spiritual growth, accountability, and the practical application of Scripture in everyday life.
